Mindfulness-Based (MBCT)
Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) is a type of psychotherapy that involves a combination of cognitive therapy and meditation methods. MBCT practice can helps clients to see more clearly the patterns of their thinking and to learn how to recognize when their mood is beginning to shift downward. Through mindfulness, clients can discover that difficult and unwanted thoughts and feelings can be held in awareness and seen from an altogether different perspective that can release inner strength to breakthrough emotional barriers. Mindfulness can help clients learn how to be present and focus on the “here and now.”
